A Casino Night for Family Self-Sufficiency

Dothan Housing's Affiliate Non-Profit Host the Casino Royale Charity Fundraiser

DOTHAN, AL - Dothan Housing will be holding a charity fundraiser, Casino Royale: The All-Black Affair, which will benefit the Building Opportunities towards Self-Sufficiency, Inc. (BOSS) 501(c)(3) non-profit, on Thursday, November 3, 2022. The fundraiser will take place from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton at 2740 Ross Clark Cir, Dothan, AL 36301.

"We are elated to launch yet another fundraising event to benefit BOSS and its efforts to drive economic independence with our families," said Samuel P. Crawford, President & CEO of Dothan Housing. "Our goal is to raise $5,000.00 during this event with the support of our valued community members."

The evening will consist of casino-style games, including but not limited to blackjack and roulette. Guests will receive "player's money" at the door for their donation. Afterward, guests can trade their "chips" for raffle tickets that will be used for prizes! Attendees can delve into delicious food from the ThreeSixty Kitchen and Bar®, dance the night away to music from Premier Entertainment Group, network at the photo booth, and much more!

"When you donate to our affiliate non-profit BOSS, you are helping our families reach their goals of self-sufficiency," said Dothan Housing's Senior VP & COO, Dr. Michael C. Threatt. "This is imperative as we continue to increase affordable housing opportunities while working to address intergenerational poverty and change the narrative for our families and Moving to Work agency."

We are proud to announce that two families graduated from the Family Self-Sufficiency (FSS) Program this year. The agency is pleased to have contributed over $25,000.00 to self-sufficiency this year and looks forward to assisting more families. These historical efforts remind us that housing authorities do more than housing or collect rent; we provide opportunities and launchpads for new beginnings.

Tickets are $20 and will be available online through Eventbrite beginning November 1, and donations are encouraged.
